After seven nights staying in the Ritz-Carlton Evrima Terrace Suite, one thing became abundantly clear: this wasn’t just a room where we slept. It became our favorite place on the yacht.
It was where every morning began with coffee and croissants overlooking a new stretch of coastline. Where every afternoon we returned after exploring centuries-old villages. And where every evening ended with champagne on the terrace as the Mediterranean slipped into darkness around us.
As an interior decorator, I’m fascinated by spaces that are both beautiful and highly functional. A room shouldn’t simply photograph well—it should make everyday living feel effortless.
That’s exactly what this suite accomplishes.
If you’re wondering whether a Terrace Suite is worth booking, here’s everything we loved after living in one for seven unforgettable nights.

First Impressions: Champagne & Sea Views
Our first hint that this wasn’t going to feel like a traditional cruise came before we ever stepped into the suite.
Embarkation was calm, personal, and—shockingly—unhurried. Instead of navigating crowds, we were just a handful of other couples being welcomed with champagne before being escorted aboard by members of the spa team, who introduced themselves, shared a little about the yacht, and personally walked us to our suite.
Waiting for us were our Suite Ambassadors, Jeremy and Raymond.
They gave us a quick tour (good thing, because that bathroom door handle really blended in), explained the room’s features. Then they loaded up the safety video on the giant flatscreen, and encouraged us to settle in while they retrieved our luggage.
On the coffee table?
A bottle of Moët & Chandon, resting in an ice bucket, and a personalized welcome note.
My husband and I looked at each other across the room and silently mouthed the exact same words:
“Holy…shit.”
Just as we started doing some excited victory dancing, Jeremy and Raymond returned—not only with our luggage, but with an offer to unpack everything for us.
We politely declined. Partly because we wanted a few quiet moments to let everything sink in—and partly because I’m perfectly happy unpacking my own suitcase. Some things don’t need concierge service.
Champagne was poured.
We slid terrace door open.
The sights and sounds of the port of Nice greeted us in a jubilant cacophony and that was the soundtrack I unpacked and organized our things to.

The Layout Feels Much Larger Than the Square Footage Suggests

At approximately 300 square feet inside, plus a private terrace of around 100 square feet, the Terrace Suites are considered Evrima’s entry-level accommodations.
Don’t let the words entry level fool you.
We’ve stayed in luxury hotel rooms that felt considerably smaller.
From a long and narrow hall (past that inconspicuous bathroom door), the suite opens up into one large room, thoughtfully organized into distinct living zones. A King size bed beckons, the wall it’s on flows to a desk and a sitting area before extending outside through a wall-to-wall sliding glass door.
That uninterrupted visual connection to the views outside changes everything.
Rather than feeling confined, the room feels open, bright, and surprisingly residential. A fresh white orchid, sculptural coral, cool mid-tone wood, and polished chrome accents quietly reinforce the feeling that you’re staying in a sophisticated Ritz-Carlton hotel rather than aboard a ship.
It’s a wonderful reminder that thoughtful design often matters more than sheer square footage.
The Private Terrace Quickly Becomes Your Favorite “Room”
If there’s one feature I’d urge future guests to take advantage of, it’s the terrace. One of the things that makes Evrima stand out from the cruise ship pack is that ALL of their 149 suites has a private outside terrace. I’ve been on two of the mid-tier cruise lines, and one of the things that really turned me off was the feeling of being stuck in the belly of a giant ship with no ability to get some fresh air.
Within the first day, that terrace became our favorite place to relax aboard the yacht.
Our suite ambassadors were quick to suggest setting up our breakfast service on the terrace—we love that idea. They disappeared for a moment before reappearing with a perfectly sized breakfast table produced from a hidden compartment beneath the television console. It’s one of those thoughtful little details you don’t appreciate until your first breakfast overlooking the sea.

Our morning carafe of freshly brewed coffee tasted even better with the accompanying warm salty breezes, gentle ocean sounds, calls of sea gulls, and Riviera coastlines.
While The Pool House restaurant is the first stop upon returning from a busy day of sightseeing, we loved being able to meander back to our room, remaining drinks in hand, and ordering up a bottle of wine (white or rosé, and a regional variety of course) to enjoy on our terrace.
One evening, nature put on its own show. We watched a series of thunderstorms unfolding in the distance around the yacht. Sheets of rain, intimidating rumbling waves of thunder, and brilliant flashes of lightning danced across the horizon in multiple patches, while our own path through the sea remained remarkably calm and dry.
We sat on the terrace, entranced by the natural spectacle for at least an hour.
Like all responsible companies, Ritz Carlton has multiple energy-saving features on board their vessels. One of these is that when the terrace door is open, the heat or (in our case) air conditioning cuts off. Our suite ambassadors likely mention this in their tour, but we missed it and only figured it out after we’d closed the door to the terrace and noticed there was no air flow. An easy fix: hit the thermostat up or down on the wall near the entry door to activate the system.
Designed Like a Luxury Hotel, Not a Cruise Cabin
This is where Ritz-Carlton’s hospitality experience truly shines.
The Design
Throughout the yacht, soft taupes, calming grays, warm wood finishes, polished chrome accents, creamy upholstery, and tailored furnishings create an atmosphere that’s understated, calming, and unmistakably luxurious. The result in the Terrace Room is sophisticated, layered, and cozy.
Another top design feature? Multiple lighting sources, and all of them dimmable. You can calibrate the mood throughout the day. . .and night. Dimmable lighting is one of the first things I suggest to my clients and is one of the easiest ways to get that cozy luxury vibe at home.
In addition to feeling soothing, the design also never competes with the view outside.
Instead, it frames it.
As someone who spends a good amount of time thinking about how interiors look and feel, I appreciate the restraint.
Nothing feels trendy or excessive.
Everything feels intentional.

A Bed Goldilocks Would Approve
Not too firm, not too push—just right. The bed of everyone’s dreams is also a very Ritz-Carlton trait. For Evrima, guests are getting their best zzz’s on Italian-made Matermoll mattresses. The company has been supplying premium bedding to luxury hospitality and the cruise industry since the 1950s.
As if the perfect pressure-relieving foam wasn’t enough, you’re also sleeping on the sheets of choice for European royalty.
Another Italian luxury label, with a 160-year heritage of excellence, Frette is a premier luxury linen brand and let me tell you those 100% cotton sheets —and the fluffy terry bathrobes— are absolutely covetable. Smooth and soft, with some structured heft and yet completely breathable.
They don’t skimp on the pillows either. You get two light-as-air down pillows to snuggle up on and this has been something I’ve carried over into my own home (and my clients’ homes) since my first stay at a Ritz Carlton hotel.
Storage That Actually Works
One of the biggest (and best) surprises?
Storage.
built into the wall, a double-door wardrobe easily accommodates all of our hanging clothes. Below, there is plenty of space for our carry-on suitcases and shoes.
Numerous drawers mean we both have ample folded item storage. In fact, we didn’t even need it all. Next to the double door wardrobe is a a smaller closet that can fit blazers with the in-room safe and more drawers beneath. I unpacked completely in about ten minutes and didn’t open our suitcases again until the morning we disembarked. That’s probably the highest compliment I can give the storage design.
Additional open shelving, bedside surface nooks, three hooks along the narrow entry hall, and generous bathroom cabinetry means everything has a place.
A Bathroom of Practical Luxuries
I imagine most cruise bathrooms aren’t generally memorable.
This one is.
Marble surfaces, polished chrome fittings, generous walk-in rain shower, a double vanity, plush towels–and a towel warming rack, and Diptyque amenities in their iconic 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain fragrance. . . all the amenities abound in this compact layout.
Light bars on either side of the mirror made getting ready for dinner a pleasure rather than a challenge.
The hair dryer lives inside one of the vanity drawers, already plugged into a hidden outlet. It’s such a simple idea, but it’s exactly the kind of thoughtful design decision that keeps countertops uncluttered while making the room easier to use.
Throughout the suite, it’s these simple moments of practical luxury that quietly accumulate.

Five Little Things We Didn’t Expect
Sometimes it’s the smallest details that become the most memorable.
Here are five thoughtful touches that surprised us.
1. They’ll unpack your luggage for you.
Yes, really.
If that’s your style, simply say yes.
2. Your minibar becomes your minibar.
The mini fridge is nearly empty by design: you just have to let your your suite ambassadors know what you’d like stocked.
For us, that meant Woodford Reserve for Mark, Moët & Chandon chilling in ice for me.
3. The suite quietly resets itself.
While you’re out exploring beautiful ports during the day and enjoying dinner on board in the evening, the bed gets made, towels are replaced, and everything is tidied into perfect order.
It never feels intrusive.
It simply feels effortless.
4. They remember the little things.
Mention a favorite wine once. Ask for another carafe of water. Express your delight at in-suite breakfast al fresco on the terrace.
Chances are, those things will magically appear or happen.
5. The Suite Ambassadors become part of the experience.
Jeremy and Raymond quietly elevated our entire trip.

While docked in Livorno, we decided to spend the morning working off some of the all-inclusive over-indulgence at the fitness center, then relaxing in the outdoor whirlpool. After a leisurely lunch at The Pool House (where the calorie deficit was immediately reversed) we returned to our suite to discover flowers, rose petals, gold butterflies, and a “Happy Anniversary” banner. We’d mentioned on day one our wedding anniversary was on the last day of the sailing, that in part we were cruising to celebrate.
It was completely unexpected.
And completely unforgettable.
The Smallest Suite Never Feels Like a Compromise
Any of the suites on Evrima would be idyllic retreats. It may be the smallest, but this “entry-level” terrace suite packs a luxe punch.
The thoughtful design and layout makes seven nights feel perfectly comfortable. And the attentive service is next-level indulgence.
For us, the Terrace Suite wasn’t simply where we slept.
It became one of our favorite destinations on the entire voyage.

If you’re planning an Evrima sailing, I’ll also be sharing detailed guides to the yacht’s restaurants, what I packed for seven nights in a carry-on, and our favorite experiences in each port along the way.
Until then, if you’re debating whether to book the Terrace Suite, my advice is simple:
Open the terrace doors.
Pour the champagne.
And don’t make too many plans for that first afternoon.
You’ll want to savor every moment.
